The audience theory that this magazine cover uses is reception this is were an audience is not passive and they take in information, making their owns opinion on the topic that is being shown this cover. Is reception because it’s on a topic that need to be take in have a understanding and the people picking up will already have there on opinion on the musical before reading. The audience can form a dominant opinion meaning they agree with what is being said the also could form an negotiated opinion were they partly agree with what has been said and lastly the could for an oppositional opinion this is were they do not agree with what has been said at all this magazine could have many different responses . With is cover by Vibe is does gives the right amount of information it lets the person know when they read this magazine it will be about Lin-Manuel Miranda and his story “from in the heights to the white house” and his making of the musical Hamilton this is what they would want to see. The facial expression on Lin-Manuel Miranda is know as practical the man at work face this could tell the audience that it could be a more serious story on how he has become so popular. It also could make you want to read more and buy the magazine to find out why he looks likes why is he so serious and sad looking. The colour scheme for the front of the magazine is very chromatic the use of dark colours this agin could be another way of showing the mood and tone for the magazine. but when colour is used on the cover it is to catch the eye of the passer by so they stop and look at the magazine and know who it is about. The lighting for the cover is also low key but the image has been changed into a black and white but the light has be made by a fluorescent light as well. Then there are the codes and conventions used this magazine is to educate it provides knowledge on who is on the cover and what he has done and his story, also is to entertain someone who enjoys reading about Lin-Manuel Miranda and learning about his work and what he has done.
